Clomid (clomiphene) can be prescribed for women suffering from infertility because of problems with ovulation. This medicine works by stimulating the release of hormones that cause ovulation. Clomid is FDA pregnancy category X – it is extremely dangerous for an unborn and nursing baby, as it can cause birth defects. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding you must absolutely not start taking this drug without previously discussing it with your health care provider. There are no known drug interactions reported in case of Clomid, but you might want to check with your health care provider before you start any new drug to see if it’s safe enough. If your health care provider does not think it’s not a good idea, you may be recommended to wait until the five days, during which you will be required to take this medicine, are over.
